The beautiful resort of Kalkan is located on the South West Coast of Turkey between Fethiye and Kas. The nearest airport is Dalaman with a transfer time of approximately 1.1/2 hours or Antalya 3 hours away. Originally a favourite holiday destination for wealthy Turks, it now caters for international visitors who enjoy luxury as standard, high quality reasonably priced restaurants and friendly hospitable people.
Once you have visited Kalkan, most people return year after year as it is unlike
any other resort they have visited. The ‘old town’ or centre of Kalkan has narrow cobbled streets leading straight to the picturesque harbour with an array of upmarket restaurants and cosy bars. The old style Ottoman buildings and houses with their wooden balconies are covered with trailing bougainvillea and are absolutely stunning when in full bloom.
Kalkan has a small pebble beach plus there are a number of beach clubs with bathing platforms and direct access into the sea which are very popular with visitors. There is also a good selection of boat trips including a moonlight cruise as well as watersport activities. Patara and Kaputus beaches are sandy beaches and only a short distance away by taxi or why not use a local Dolmus (minibus) which is very cheap and reliable. The Dolmus will also take you farther afield to many other local attractions
